Crisis Point 2019 Operation Hercules Day 2 table layout

Back to the games from Crisis Point, after our excursion to Salute.  This was the table as we modified it for the second day's gaming, which would see Axis forces pushing inland after a landing in a sheltered bay on the west coast, attempting to meet up with units of Gebirgsjager airlanded at the airfield secured in game 1, and then pushing on to break through to Valetta.

The beach area.

The other end of the table with the hills on the right representing the area the Gebirgsjager would advance from.

The British stop line runs along the main road running up the mid-part of the table, with defences centred on the villages in the foreground and distance.

The terrain the Gebirgsjager would be able to cross with relative ease.

The beach - it would be assumed the beach had been secured by the first wave, so the game would begin with Axis forces exploiting after overcoming the beach defences.

The village my British platoon would attempt to defend.

An unoccupied villa with a fine sea view.

The other village defended by Mike's British infantry.

So, the stage is set for day 2.

    1. We need to come up with a plan for Gauntlet. We could try Setting the East Ablaze or another game of Battlegroup!

    2. What about Game Three of the Malta game?

    3. I think Will amalgamated games 2 and 3. 2 was going to be the seaborne landings and 3 the push inland against a dug in defence - we finished up doing something in between both.
