I built 2 Plastic Soldier Company Panthers at Christmas and have been painting them off and on for several months. The command vehicle, with commander standing in the turret, is in the standard late war three colour German scheme with a base of Dunkelgelb and splodges of Grau-Grun and Rot-Brun.
I used some rust and earth pigments to stain up the exhausts and wheels/tracks, which worked well.
The buttoned up Panther is in a basic Dunkelgelb factory finish.
Finally, this is an old Britannia Panther, slightly smaller than the PSC version. I've added a PSC crew man and some decals to finish the vehicle off. No divisional insignia as I've not decided what unit these belong to.
I'm pleased with how these have turned out and relieved that they are off the painting table as they have taken up a lot of room. However, I will add another box of PSC Panthers to complete a platoon.
Thanks for looking.
Looking mean, buddy! But what are you going to do with 20mm stuff? I thought you were doing all the Battlegroup stuff in 15mm?

Thanks Jack.
DeleteYeh, most of my WW2 kit is 15mm but I've always liked the look and feel of 20mm - childhood memories of Airfix I guess. I've gradually built up a collection, mostly plastics as they offer such great value, but back in May I took part in a Battlegroup weekend organised by Warwick Kinrade at our local club venue, which meant I needed to beef up my 20mm Germans quite a bit. That's given me the spur to get some more done and to expand into US and British troops as well. Still got the 15mm stuff on the go too though, and 6mm, and … Well you get the picture.

Yeah man, unfortunately I do know what you mean ;)

They look great Andy. Just working on the 15mm ones I got at Barrage. Found this chaps blog http://therivetcounter.blogspot.com who details how to convert the 15mm ones into the earlier G version. Worth a look.

Thanks Richard. I've heard of him, but will have a look. I have a set of the 15mm Panthers, I found the barrels too slender and brittle - already had to fix several and can't dind the tip of one at all. Working on assembling some 15mm Shermans today and still got those Stugs from the BnB at Jo6!!!
