Turn 9 morning Sep 20th. 30 Corps have linked up with 101st US Airborne. Tyne-Tees Division is securing left flank while 3rd British Division is stabilising the right.
Guards Armoured is pushing on to Veghel to act as a sprinboard for the next push to relieve 82nd US Airborne.
Arnhem bridge defenders are out of supply, while 1st Airborne remnants hold Oosterbeck. US 82nd try to keep a foothold in Nijmegen, hold the landing grounds and spread themselves very thinly. Overcast skies prevent reserves deploying.
The gap between 30 Corps and 101st at Veghel at the bottom of the image and 82nd at Nijmegen. The Maas will need bridging too.
Turn 10 afternoon. The weather clears and the allies drop the Poles on Renkum Heath and remnants of 82nd around the Groesbeck Heights.
30 Corps push German infantry back from the road around Son, but struggle to get combat troops up to Veghel.
82nd Airborne realise the need to bridge the Maas and move paratroopers to Grave. Reinforcements for 82nd try to hold/clear Nijmegen.
1st British tries to open up some breathing space around Oosterbeck, but the bridge is ringed by SS troops.
Turn 11, night. 30 Corps finally get Guards Armoured within range of Veghel. Wessex Division takes time to mop up some isolated German paratroopers.
Still no progress at Veghel by 30 Corps, although infantry and paratrropers are moving in.
All too slow progress for 30 Corps.
